Olympus Longevity ensures patients are fully informed and compliant with state-specific telehealth requirements before initiating care. Our processes are as follows:
1. State-Specific Video/Audio Requirements:
- During patient onboarding, our telemedicine platform automatically identifies the patient’s state of residence based on their verified address.
- Before scheduling, the system presents patients with state-specific requirements for video or audio consultation. For example, if a state requires synchronous video, patients are notified that video will be mandatory before proceeding.
- Patients must acknowledge these requirements in writing before their appointment can be confirmed.
2. Physician Identity Disclosure:
- Prior to the consultation, patients are provided with the full name, credentials, and licensure information of the treating physician.
- This information is displayed within the telehealth portal and confirmed again at the start of the video consultation.
- If required by state regulation, the physician verbally reconfirms their identity and licensure status at the beginning of the visit.
3. Patient Consent Process:
- All patients must review and electronically sign an informed consent form before the first telemedicine encounter.
- The consent form includes details on: the nature of telemedicine, limitations of virtual care, privacy/security of communications, and emergency protocols.
- Signed consent is stored securely in the patient’s electronic health record and must be renewed if there are changes in regulations or service scope.
Through these safeguards, Olympus Longevity ensures that patients are informed of telemedicine requirements, physician identity, and their rights/responsibilities under state-specific regulations.
